2. Brief introduction of the educational institution

Vinh University is located in the heart of Vinh City, Nghe An Province, in central Vietnam.  The University was first established in 1959 as Vinh Teacher Training College. Since its creation, Vinh University has become a major centre for education, training, and scientific research in Vietnam. The University attempts to train students to become dynamic, creative and achieve excellence in both academic knowledge and social understanding, to meet the needs of today’s society.

Currently, Vinh University is a member of the International CDIO Association, the ASEAN University Quality Assurance Organization (AUN-QA), is one of eight pedagogical training centers in Vietnam, one of ten educational institutions participating in the National Foreign Language Project 2020. Vinh University has one out of seven national education quality accreditation centers located at the university.

Vinh University was recognized as having achieved the educational quality accreditation standard for the second time in 2017.

3. Training programs that accept foreign students

Currently, Vinh University is receiving and training international students in 46 undergraduate majors and 38 postgraduate majors, including educational management, Political science, Law, Information technology, Crop science, Economic management, Business administration, Political economy, etc.

4. Facilities for international students

Located in a city of about 400,000 inhabitants and mindful of its long-standing academic tradition while resolutely looking to the future, Vinh University manages to strike a careful balance between scientific excellence and quality of life on campus.

Students can stay in 2 dormitory buildings with 315 rooms on campus of the University. The rooms are designed to be self-contained with an area of 30.5 m2 for 04 people, ensuring good conditions for living and studying. The dormitory campus is spacious and airy, with many rows of trees, with a football field, volleyball, Sepak takraw, etc. Students are supported by the university with a part of monthly electricity and water usage fees.


 

5. Support policies/scholarship programs for international students

International students under the Agreement are granted a full scholarship by the Government, based on the cooperation program between the Ministry of Education and Training, the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Ministry of Education and Sports of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, including living expenses, training costs, initial facilities, airfares, train tickets for the first time upon admission and the return trip upon graduation.

Overseas students are sent for training by Nghe An Provincial People's Committee, annual funding provided by Nghe An province, including living expenses, training costs and initial equipment.

International students who are self-funding, who study under the Memorandum of Understanding or Cooperation Agreement between Vinh University and the Departments of Education and Sports of Laos or international students from other countries wishing to study at Vinh University, all expenses must be self-paid during their study.
